How Compress PDF Offline works

Compress PDF Offline wraps DayFiles PDF tools in an Android app shell. The starter APK focuses on compression, image-to-PDF, split, remove-pages, and file-size checks.

Focused Android app shell

This APK exposes only the starter tools for the Compress PDF Offline app: Compress PDF, Image to PDF, Split PDF, Remove PDF Pages, and PDF File Size Checker.

The wider Private PDF website and app codebase can support more tools, but this mini app keeps the first release focused on making PDFs smaller and easier to share.

Local-first processing model

The app uses the DayFiles browser-first runtime inside a native Android shell. Supported PDF operations run on the device for normal workflows rather than requiring a remote document-processing queue.

Very large scanned PDFs, damaged files, unsupported encryption, and low-memory devices can still limit what the app can do.

Export and sharing

After a tool finishes, use the existing result flow to save or share the smaller or prepared PDF through Android’s normal file and share controls.

Always review the exported file before sending it, especially when compression or page removal changes the structure of the document.
